Meet Charlotte Martin – Mutneys Warehouse Team

Hi everyone. My name is Charlotte Martin. I’m 19 and I started working at Mutneys six months ago after qualifying from Reaseheath College. I was at the college for two years on an animal management course and I’m now really enjoying working as part of the Mutneys team. I live on our family farm nearby so I’m used to hard work and being involved in a family business.
I work alongside Faye in the warehouse as a warehouse operative making sure that all your Mutney orders are selected, packed and sent off to you safely and securely.
We covered dog grooming as part of my course and I also went on work placement to a local kennels in my first year as part of my course. I did quite a lot of the grooming and coat care for the dogs while I was at the kennels. So when I saw the job advertised at Mutneys it seemed to fit with what I had done already.
I’ve been learning all about the different Mutneys products and every day I find out something new about the range, how it was developed and its different uses. I’ve been given the chance to train for an extra qualification in the future but at the moment I’m settling in and enjoying what I do.
I really look forward to coming into work. Faye and I get along really well and because there are two of us in the warehouse it means there is always someone around to help if you need it.
The thing I really like about working here is that there is such a family feel to the place. There is always someone who will listen if you have a problem and everyone is really friendly. And having the staff dogs around all the time makes it really enjoyable.
I have a Border Collie called Bailey. He’s only one year old and full of energy. I did bring him into work one day but he was so lively that he caused a bit of havoc. I’m going to wait until he is a more settled before I try it again but I’m sure he will be fine when he’s a bit older.
I’m really looking forward to carrying on learning about the business and seeing what opportunities arise for me at Mutneys in the future. And, of course, getting Bailey involved in the doggy family as well.
