Meet the team – Jo Ashford – Office Admin

Hi everyone. My name is Jodine Ashford but everyone knows me as Jo. I’m the latest recruit to the Mutneys team and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all.
I joined Mutneys three months ago in an admin/sales representative role. I’m most likely to be the person you speak to when you call in and I’m really enjoying chatting to you all as I help with your order and invoicing queries.
Before I came to Mutneys I was the sales manager with the publication Wrekin News and before that I was working in the office at two local schools for children with special needs.
At 44 years old, I was looking for a fresh start, something completely different, and so when I saw the advert for the post at Mutneys it seemed to tick all the boxes.
I’ve settled in really well over the last three months. Everyone here is really welcoming and there is such a good family feel about the company. My role includes taking incoming calls, invoicing, responding to emails and inputting orders and taking payments over the phone.
I’m also finding out about all the colleges and academies for dog groomers as part of Mutneys’ partnership schemes with students and educating centres up and down the country.
It’s quite different from my role as a sales manager and in school offices but I love learning about new things. I’m really enjoying finding out about all the Mutneys products and I’ve even been able to try some of them out on our family dog Roxy.
Roxy is a Presa Canario – full name Perro de Presa Canario. The breed is a Spanish cattle dog used for guarding livestock in the mountains. We had her as a puppy and she is 15 months old now.
She’s absolutely amazing as a family dog and is devoted to our 16-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter. But she does have a really high guarding instinct so she is going through a lot of training at the moment to get her used to meeting new people and dogs.
I come from a family of dog lovers so meeting all the dogs in the office at Mutneys has been wonderful. It’s very much a professional setting but with a really homely feel.
Coming to Mutneys has been a fantastic challenge and it’s certainly lived up to my search for something completely different. Now I’m really looking forward to getting to know all our customers and swapping doggy stories!
